Lepakshi and Nandi Hills, A ride..

This was mine and Vijay's fourth bike trip back in 2012 or 2013, I don't remember the date. We had planned for a one day trip, we decided upon lepakshi and nandi hills. We started around seven in the morning. Not encountering much of a traffic inside the city, we crossed the city in about 40 min. There was a lot of speculation about an uproar in Andhra. Keeping that in mind we drove off past the international airport.

Driving on the Bangalore-Hyderabad highway was one of the most enjoying drives that I had while driving outside of Bangalore. The highway doesn't have any speed breakers as such. All along the side are quite a barren land with a lil bit of greenery. The wind is very very heavy, which actually drifts the bike away from a straight line.

We reached Lepakshi in the estimated time. The temple in Lepakshi is known for the roof top paintings, whatever is left of them. I was expecting a lot more of visual pleasure of the paintings, but most of them was left in half baked state. The temple on the whole was huge and was being expanded. We looked around and then left for Hindupur for lunch. Had a nice tummy filling lunch and left the place towards Nandi Hills.

We had so much time on our hand, we stopped on the way to click some pics and also to have a look at the lush greenery. The ride was pretty neat as nearly the whole way we only encountered greenery on both sides and the traffic was also at tolerable levels. It was planned that we reach Nandi Hills for sunset, but we reached early.

It wasn't a comfy bed that we needed, but a huge rock that was required to stretch the back and relax.
Laying on the rock, with an evening Sun shining away all the worries of this mortal world, with a blue sky above and clouds floating we rested. After resting for more than the required amount, we started drive back home. The drive from the top of Nandi hills was so beautiful that it almost felt like I was in heaven. The sunset was an added pleasure for the eyes.On the way back home we stopped once to have a fresh cup of coffee at a coffee day. And then reached home after a really good day drive.

The sound of the bikes kept on ringing in my ears even when I got up the next morning.
