Developer Vs Tester - Part II

This is a reply to one of the blogs that I follow. Check the post in this link. Here I would be sharing my experience on this topic. For all you testers out there, no hard feelings.. :)

It so much true that almost everywhere developers consider testers as the troublemakers. Guess why? coz they really are. They think they know shit about our code. First of all no one like to hear faults in their own baby. And they think that the quality of our code is because of them. Well it might be true, but they should realize that they did no ass whooping work in actually writing it.

The so called testers consider themselves as the Gods of all the application, they even think that the application is better known to them that the customer himself. All the technical difficulties that we actually went through while coding is not at all known to them, still calling themselves GOD! I have no words.

Next complain from the self-proclaimed Gods are that the developers didn't do any kinda unit test. Yes I still think a developer cant actually find bugs in his code. But condemning his testing abilities is no good coz we are not there to do the testing intensively. Just knowing some functional concepts doesn't mean that every shit can be coded in all languages. Environments do affect the working of many of the applications. We say that its an environment issue coz we know it is.

I have heard tester even saying that it would be better for customer if the application worked this way. These shit kinda suggestions are so irritating that I wish I had sweared them in face rather than writing here. Opening bugs as if they were shitting on us. Well cant blame them for that, coz all that they can do is shit about others work.

Even after all this they think that we developers are the reason for not maintaining a good rapport with them. This war between a developer and tester is exactly like a relative complaining about your kid. Yeah and now you know who the villain is, huh?!

  2. Villain is the "BUG" :)
Testers are Cops, n Dev guys like Justice, who kinda give a fix to them...

(Though u guys code, u would never allow a seen/observed defect without fixing..) - so some unnoticed ones go to the tester n they are forced to their job! :)

  3. Nice comparison...

So you still wanna hold up the flag of peace in this war, huh?!

  4. It not the peace flag, rather I am just stating our nature of jobs... u r doing your work n am I doing mine...

It does not cost a thing to maintain a good rapport!

  5. Yeah a developer can maintain a good rapport with the tester if all the testers thought of their job same as u... But in reality no, they dont think that way; I think there are very few of them who think that its just a job rather than war...
